Natalie's practice spans corporate finance, corporate advisory and M&A, with particular emphasis on general offers, reverse take-overs, joint ventures, venture capital, foreign direct investments, equity-linked offerings, placements, corporate and debt restructuring. She has handled numerous high profile global offerings and listings in Singapore and Malaysia, and has advised on many major transactions in various industries, such as healthcare, oil and gas, plantation, real estate, shipping, and financial services. A previous engagement with another law firm specialising in corporate law has equipped Natalie with a sound understanding of the securities laws and regulations relating to corporations and the equity capital markets; with the ability to advise and assist clients in structuring transactions to best meet their objectives. She has an extensive portfolio of clients, both international and local, which includes many leading local and foreign investment banks and financial institutions, multinational and public listed companies and private equity funds.

Natalie completed her tertiary education in the United Kingdom and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Bristol, England. She was admitted as an Utter Barrister of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, London, having been called to the Bar of England & Wales, in 1995. She obtained her Master of Laws degree (Corporate and Commercial Law) from King’s College, London in 1996. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997.

Natalie was recognised as a “Rising Star” for the practice areas of M&A, Capital Markets and Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency, with particular industry focus on Banking, Government and Public Policy and Oil & Gas by the IFLR1000: Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms for 3 consecutive years in their 2015, 2016 and 2017 edition. She was previously nominated by in-house counsels and peers as a “Rising Star” in the practice area of Capital Markets in the Asialaw Leading Lawyers Survey 2014. Natalie was also listed in the Malaysia: Who’s Who: Constitution, Government & Politics (2013/2014 edition). In the 2012 IFN Leading Lawyers Survey, clients & peers polled by the Islamic Finance News held her in high regard and voted her as a “Leading Lawyer” for Real Estate and Property.


Natalie has advised in several notable transactions, including:

In 2016: Co-advised the underwriters in the listing of Ranhill Holdings Berhad on the Malaysian stock exchange in a deal which had a market capitalisation of RM1.07 billion (based on the offering price of RM1.20).

In 2016: Advised the placement agents in the multi-million Ringgit placement exercise for shares of Kerjaya Prospek Group Berhad.

Since 2012 to 2016 : Advised a leading local investment bank on the issuance of structured warrants listed on the Malaysian stock exchange, and the annual renewal of its base prospectus.

In 2014: Advised the joint bookrunners and underwriters in the listing of ICON Offshore Berhad on the Malaysian stock exchange.

In 2013: Advised the joint bookrunners and underwriters in the listing of Westports Holdings Berhad on the Malaysian stock exchange.

In 2012: Co- advised in the first concurrent dual listing of an integrated healthcare provider on the Malaysian & Singapore Stock Exchange. The deal was acclaimed “Malaysia Capital Markets Deal of the Year” by International Financing Review (IFR) Asia 2012 Awards, besides winning “Deal of the Year”: Asian-MENA Counsel Deals of the Year 2012 Awards.

In 2011 – 2012: Co-led the team advising Kencana Petroleum Berhad in the merger of the businesses of the Kencana Petroleum Berhad group and the Sapuracrest Petroleum Berhad group, resulting in the merger of assets of an aggregate value of over RM11.8 billion and the listing of SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad.

In 2010: part of the team which advised the national oil & gas corporation on the US$4.2 billion global initial public offering of its subsidiary Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad on the Malaysian stock exchange, which was hailed as the largest IPO in Malaysia and the largest IPO in South-East Asia for 2010.

Besides being an active practitioner, Natalie has also presented papers and conducted seminars on current legal topics of interest, such as “Directors’ Duties and Responsibilities”, “IP Law and Strategy in Malaysia” and “Drafting Commercial Agreements”.
